Sacred Heart of Jesus

The honor and worship now given to the Sacred Heart of Jesus had its origin through the revelations made to Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque in the seventeenth century. the immeidate object of the devotion is the Heart of Jesus, the Son of God, and the burning love of Christ manifested toward humankind. Devotion to the Sacred Heart helps us acknowledge our Lord as king over our hearts by exciting in them a return of love for God and for one another.

Litany of the Sacred Heart

abode of justice and love,

full of goodness and love,

abyss of all virtues,

most worthy of all praise,

King and center of all hearts,

in Whom are all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge,

in Whom dwells the fullness of divinity,

in Whom the Father was well pleased,

of Whose fullness we have all received,

desire of the everlasting hills,

patient and most merciful,
